(1) Each individual, in its own compartment of a large vivarium behaves like a dominant, selecting high perches and courting when a female is introduced.(2) A small number of test animals for this project are already in the vivarium .(3) Because there was no temperature control in the vivarium the animal would have suffered distress as its body heat decreased.(4) In most research settings, observers sit in the dark watching an illuminated vivarium , peer through gauzy curtains, or observe by means of remote video surveillance.(5) But this iguana is in good condition, which leads me to think it has escaped from a vivarium , rather than having been abandoned.
